Unable to log-in to the Virtual Office due to a gateway error

This article explains what to do if, when you attempt to connect to the Virtual Office ( Remote Desktop application ) you encounter the following error message which means that you are trying to connect to the decommissioned VO server:

The error message:
Remote Desktop can't connect to remote computer for one of these reasons:
Your user account is not listed in the RD gateway's permission list
You might have specified the remote computer in NetBIOS format but the RD gateway is expecting an FQDN or IP address. Contact your network administrator for assistance.

To rectify this, you will need to follow the below steps :

  1. Enter your credentials in the below format:

    • FCSASP\Username

    • Password

  2. Click Sign In.

  3. Click the Virtual Office icon and download and run the Remote Desktop (.rdp) file.

  4. Click Connect.

  5. When prompted, enter your credentials again and click Sign In.

    • If anything other than your VO username displays, select More choices then Use another Account and enter your VO credentials.
