Configure a new Outlook profile within the Virtual Office

This article explains how to set up a new Outlook profile in the Virtual Office. Can be done if you should get the error below:

Cannot start Microsoft Outlook. Cannot open the Outlook window.

The set of folders cannot be opened. The information store could not be opened.

You must connect to Microsoft Exchange with your Outlook data file (.ost).

To create a new Outlook Profile:

  1. Click Start then click VO Mail Settings.

  2. Click Show Profiles and select Add.

  3. Enter a profile name and click OK.

  4. Configure the email account by entering email address and password.

  5. Click Apply.

You are then prompted to choose an option to select for 'when starting Microsoft Outlook, use this profile' - Choose to either; Prompt for a profile to be used OR Always use this profile (Select profile from the drop-down menu), click Apply.

๐Ÿ“Œ Note: If you are using RDB Sync you will need to update the Mail profile in the settings, to do this:

  1. Right-click the RDB Sync icon in the notification area in the bottom right of your screen.

  2. Click Options.

  3. Select the Authentication option from the left-hand column.

  4. In the Profile Name drop-down, select the new profile you have created.
