Once you set a program to open a file type as default, whenever you try to open a file of that type, the default program will automatically be used to open it.
To change the default program:
Find a file that is opening in the wrong program.
Right-click on the file and from the menu select Open With.
Select the Program you want to set as default and make sure the Use this app for all ...files checkbox is ticked.
