There are several known potential causes of this error:
Use of the Login Session Management plugin to intentionally terminate user sessions.
Use of the Duplicate Login plugin to automatically terminate a user session if they login to RDB a second time elsewhere.
Use of RDB Mobile while logged in to desktop RDB.
Inappropriate Windows Power settings, and performance issues with the SQL server hosting the database.
Login Session Management plugin
A user's session can be terminated by another user having access to the Login Session Management plugin. If the error detailed in this case is displaying, please check that another user hasn't intentionally terminated it in order to manage licences in use.
Duplicate Login plugin
This plugin will terminate a user's original login session if they go ahead and login to RDB a second time. Please check that affected users aren't doing this (they will see a warning message during that second concurrent login if the plugin is installed and being applied to them).
RDB Mobile
Using RDB Mobile while logged in to desktop RDB will cause termination of the desktop RDB login; please check that affected users aren't doing this.
Windows Power settings
If any of Windows Power settings include turning off networking devices when the machine that RDB is being accessed from enters a power-saving mode, they are likely to cause this error (particularly if the power-saving mode is triggered after only a relatively short period of inactivity). Please ask your IT team to review and correct these settings to avoid the occurrence.
If these plugins and RDB Mobile are not installed or not being used, and your IT team have confirmed that no Windows Power settings are turning off networking devices, please contact us via the MyAccess portal and provide details of who is having the problem and what has been one to investigate it so far.
