You can batch assign sectors to records by using the Batch sector assignment plugin which can be found in the RDB store free of charge.

This plugin can be installed by a decision-maker or a verified contact through the RDB store under the plugins tab within Access RDB. To do this:

  1. Click Plugins and then click RDB store.

  2. Find the plugin and click Install.

Once the plugin is installed and assigned to all or specific users the users will need to restart Access RDB in order for the plugin to become available in a saved tag file.

How to use the Plugin:

  1. Create a new saved tag file with the records which you wish to change sector.

  2. Click Home and then Click Saved tag file.

  3. Click Batch sector assignment.

  4. Before continuing you will need to read the User agreement and agree.

  5. Select the type of record you want to assign to a sector and then select the sectors that you want this type of record to be assigned to.

Next, decide if you require the additional options:

  • Remove objects from all other Sectors โ€“ This will remove records (excluding jobs) from all unselected sectors, leaving the record only with the selected sectors assigned.

  • Assign associated Clients to Sector (Job only) โ€“ as stated this will only be available when working with Job records. This will ensure that the clients linked to the jobs in the saved tag file are assigned the sector to which you are assigning the job.

Note:

  • A job can only be assigned to one sector.

  • In order to complete the assignment you will need to click on Assign sectors and a confirmation message will appear to ensure that the correct record type has been selected.

  • If you are assigning jobs you will be given the choice to assign the placements for those jobs as well through a confirmation message. By selecting Yes the placements will also change sectors, by pressing No only the jobs will.
