In order to install RDB ProNet and auxiliary programs:

  1. Access the shared folder which includes the installation Files, normally found on the server called RDB ProNet + the latest version.

  2. Close Outlook.

  3. Right-click Client Setup.cmd and Run as Administrator. Follow the instructions on screen.

  4. Right-click New PCs or Users.cmd and Run as Administrator. Follow the instructions on screen.

If the above steps do not complete the installation try the steps below:

  1. Install the Prerequisites found in files and should be located in \\<servername>\RDB ProNet X.X\Release\Client\.

    1. .NET Runtime - \Prerequisites\.Net Framework 4.52 Web Installer\.

    2. Visual C Runtime 64 bit - \Prerequisites\vcredist_x64_2012sp4\.

    3. Visual C Runtime 32 bit - \Prerequisites\vcredist_x86_2012sp4\.

    4. Crystal Reports Engine - \Prerequisites\CRforVS_redist_install_32bit_13_0_13\.

  2. Run the below as an Administrator:

    1. RDB Client - RDBInstaller.msi.

    2. RDB Sync for 64bit Windows - RDBOutlookSyncSetup64.msi. or

    3. RDB Sync for 32bit Windows - RDBOutlookSyncSetup32.msi.

    4. CV Reader for 64bit Windows - CVReaderSetup64.msi. or

    5. CV Reader for 32bit Windows - CVReaderSetup32.msi.

  3. Test the shortcuts. If unable to connect to the database, the shortcuts for RDB, RDB Sync and CV Reader may not have the necessary -c parameter that points to the client’s RDB database.
This -c parameter may need to be copied from the target field of a working shortcut to RDB and added to the end of the target field of the new shortcuts, before the end user can successfully login (the shortcuts should be set to point to the location of a dbconfig.dat file that contains relevant connection information).

For further guidance on RDB shortcuts should the following error persist, please see article Database Configuration file not found (Local and hybrid installs).
